UPCOMING EVENTS:
- Gallery Night “Fall in Bloom” - Friday evening, October 14th 5-9pm. Come meet some of our (170+) artists and crafters while indulging in a terrific selection of chocolate deserts. ‘Gallery Night’ is a promotional event of the Madison Museum of Contemporary Arts taking place in venues throughout Madison showcasing the work of local artisans. Our featured artist is Ann Windell who will represent her painting techniques and promote class offerings to teach YOU how to paint like a pro. FREE chocolate, need we say more!
- Anniversary Extravaganza. October 15-23 - through Sunday. This is our once a year sale, take 20% off ALL ‘Artisan Square’ gifts and collectibles (code 29 & 333). Enter a drawing to win one of several beautiful prizes - drawing will be held Sunday, Oct 23rd at 3pm. Find a different ’shoppers special’ each day. Refreshments served. FREE pumpkins to the first 30 customers Fri, Oct 21 to Sun, Oct 23. Celebrate with us as we kick off our 7th year in business and the official start of our 7th holiday shopping season.
- Holiday Open House. November 12-13, Friday-Saturday. Join us for refreshments and fun. This is the date to shop for the most complete selection of holiday decor, crafts & gifts as our vendors are encouraged to have their merchandise setup and ready on this date. Refreshments, prize drawings.
- Christmas Walk. Saturday, December 10th Santa arrives from 11-2pm. Craft project for children to adult - see our mini craft sessions below. Also, decorate a cookie and make a craft with our elves.
CLASSES & WORKSHOPS:
- Candy Bouquet Workshop. Saturday, Nov 12th at either 11am or 1pm. Make a Thanksgiving candy bouquet to take to Grandma (or keep for yourself). Our own candy bouquet lady, Jodi Miller, will provide all supplies for this fun and truely delicious craft. $18 fee requires advance registration.
- Candy Craft $6 Mini-Sessions. Saturday, Dec 10th at 11:00am or 11:30am or Noon. Build your own yummy Santa sleigh and train out of candy and chocolates. Taught by Jodi Miller, this mini session includes all supplies. Register in advance - all ages welcome.
- Jewelry $6 Mini Sessions. Saturday, Nov 12th at either 10am or 11am. Sunday, Nov 13th at 12:30pm, 1:30pm or 2:30pm. Design and assemble either a stretch bracelet or pair of earrings (perhaps 2-3 as time permits). Learn about tools needed as well as beads and findings. No experience required. All ages welcome however, advance registration is required.
- Painting Fundamentals. Saturday, Oct 22nd 10am-noon. Brushes-paint-tools-canvas. So many ways to begin that getting started can be confusing. Learn brush types and ways to use them, paint brands or types of paint to achieve desired results, unconventional tools to paint with/on including canvas options. Fee is $29 and includes all supplies. Instructor is Ann Windell, advance registration is required. Feel free to bring any supplies you already have for an easier understanding of how to use them and learn what key items you’ll want to acquire.
- Painting - Open Workshops in glass/canvas/windows. Ann Windell is the instructor in these workshops where you learn techniques to paint on the media you select, whether it be canvas, glass, wood, ornaments, a window or a piece special to you. Take home some beautiful works of art you’ve created yourself! Class fee of $32 ($65 for windows) includes all supplies and requires advance registration 442-7467. Beginners to advanced, ages 6 to adult.
- Painting $5 Mini-Sessions. Sunday, Nov 13th 2:30 or 3:30. Glass paint a 2-sided disk ornament (snowmen theme). Sunday, Dec 10th 2:30 or 2:30 or 3:30. Paint a small canvas (holiday tree theme). Learn paint techniques while creating a decorative item to take home. All ages and no experience is required - a great group or family project. Instructor is Ann Windell, advance registration required.
- Last Minute Gift Ideas on Glass. Sunday, Cec 18th 11-2pm. A holiday painting workshop by Ann Windell includes all materials. As time permits, paint 2-3 items to give as gifts. Fee is $35. All ages welcome. Registration in advance is required.
- Learn to Knit. Monday evenings 6-8pm. Instructor, Sandra Otterson, teaches both right and left handers in knitting techniques of all levels and ages. Fee for 1 visit is $10. A discount up to 50% is available for those wishing to purchase more than 1 lesson. There is no cost for those wishing to bring their knitting and come visit - the more the merrier! We have no session on evenings that the Madison Knitting Guild meets so if you are new, call 442-7467 to confirm your attendance. Christmas Break - inquire instore for startup date.
- Candle Making with Elinor. Sessions available on request Mondays, Tuesdays or Friday evenings or Saturday or Sunday afternoons. Have fun and learn a new craft! Make unique holiday presents. Elinor Gbedey will teach you how to make soy wax candles and guide you as you create several to adorn your home or give as presents. You may bring your own container(s) to make them really special.
